Georgina specialises in domestic and cross-border insolvency/restructuring, banking and finance, commercial litigation and company law.

Most recently, Georgina has appeared in significant litigation arising out of a number of major bank and financial services company collapses. These include the Supreme Court proceedings in Heritable Bank v Landsbanki (set-off/winding-up of credit institutions) and the pending Commercial Court claim in LBI v Rabobank International said to be for some €70m (ISDA Master Agreement/determination of Loss). She is currently advising the officeholders of the insolvent financial services companies within the Tiuta and Connaught Fixed Income Fund, Series 1 groups.

Georgina has also recently appeared in hearings to convene/sanction schemes of arrangement concerning foreign companies and the Judgments Regulation (German Residential Asset Note Distributor, a rescheduling of some €4bn of debt; European Safety Vehicle Spain 1, a rescheduling of over €350m of debt).

In 2011, Georgina was seconded to the Financial Institutions Disputes Group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP for six months.

Georgina was recommended in The Lawyer in 2010 as one of five “barristers to watch”, described as having “the skills and personality to move up the ranks”.

Georgina is a fluent French speaker, capable of functioning in a legal/business environment. She has been instructed in several cases requiring legal French comprehension. Between 2004 and 2006, Georgina worked at the European Court of Justice, drafting complex legal documents in French, and at a leading French law firm, JeantetAssociés.
