Martin Pascoe's practice includes a broad range of commercial and financial law with a particular emphasis on corporate insolvency, often with substantial international elements.

 

A sample of his recent practice includes:

Acting for the Government of Brunei and the Brunei Investment Agency in worldwide proceedings against HRH Prince Jefri relating to recovery of misappropriated public monies; for Northern Rock in relation to aspects of its proposed refinancing; for sub-contractors to Metronet, and for the English liquidators of Swissair. 

 

Some recent cases are: 

HRH Prince Jefri Bolkiah v State of Brunei Darussalam and Brunei Investment Agency [2007] UKPC 62 (recusal for apparent bias) and [2007] UKPC 63 (undue influence, estoppels, specific performance);

Re Cheyne Finance plc [2007] EWHC 2402 (commercial insolvency test for structured investment vehicle);

Re Cape plc [2007] Bus LR 109 (schemes of arrangement and long-tail tort liabilities).
